		Q. What is the reimbursement from the insurance companies I am contracted with? A. It is impossible for us to know the reimbursements for all the different insurance companies. However, we suggest you have your office staff in charge of insurance call the companies you are contracted with and ask what the reimbursement would be for CPT code 86710. This is a standard CPT code and they will be able to give you the reimbursement amount. We have reports of reimbursements averaging $34 and as high as $50 on a fee-for-service claim. Q. What is the reimbursement for Medicare? A. The Medicare reimbursement for CPT code 86710 is $18.74 in most areas. However, it can vary by Health Care Finance Administration (HCFA) region. Please have a local provider check to verify the Medicare reimbursement in your region. Q. I have a lot of managed care patients. Will managed care companies pay for the ZstatFlu test? A. If you are contracted with a managed care company, you can check your contract to make sure influenza testing is not included in your capitation. Or you can call your Managed Care Representative to ask how they would reimburse for use of this diagnostic test. Even if your managed care company will not reimburse you for the test, you may very well end up saving money by using the test due to the value and cost savings it provides.
